Conceived in Cuba, the keyboard player and band leader of World band E noticed a synergy between Baul music in the melas of Bangladesh and Rumba on the streets of Havana. This seemingly contradictory connection emanated from living in the cosmopolitan melting pot of London, where disparate cultures combine, blending  diverse musical heritages. The unique fusion of music that they have created has been featured on film and on radio, and performances include an amazing show celebrating London’s diversity and the Olympic games in Trafalgar Square. Uniquely, they also played at the South Asia games following a tour there.

The line up of the band features musicians renowned for their authentic playing in various World traditions, but who are inclined to embrace more diverse traditions for their own music. The individual musicians have played with some of the leading exponents of World music and Latin American bands in a wide variety of cultures, and each brings their own unique contribution to the overall mix of traditions.
